Terms and Conditions for Training Services
Institute of Couples Therapy

1. Introduction
Welcome to the Institute of Couples Therapy. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your participation in our in-person and online training programs (“Services”). By registering for and attending our training sessions, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms.
2. Definitions
- “Services” refer to the training sessions, workshops, and courses provided by The Institute of Couples Therapy, both in-person and online.
- “Participant” refers to any individual who registers for or attends our Services.
- “Materials” refer to any content provided by The Institute of Couples Therapy, including but not limited to slides, handouts, online recordings and resources.
3. Registration and Payment

- 3.1 Registration: To register for the online or In person training you must book a place and pay in full through the Institute of Couples Therapy Website.
- 3.2 Payment: Payment must be made in full at the time of registration via our accepted payment methods on the Institute of Couples Therapy Website.
- 3.3 Confirmation: Your registration is confirmed upon receipt of payment. You will receive a confirmation email with details of the training session.
- 3.4 Qualifying Criteria: For Certificate or Diploma level training you are required to hold a qualification in Counselling, psychotherapy or psychology, be at a minimum at pre accredited level and also have experience in working with individual clients. If you register without these requirements you will not be allowed to participate in the training and you will forfeit your payment for the training.
4. Cancellations and Refunds
- 4.1 Participant Cancellations:Cancellations made at least four weeks before the start date of the training are subject to a 50% cancellation fee. Cancellations made within four weeks of the start date are not eligible for a refund.
- 4.2 Organisation Cancellations: If The Institute of Couples Therapy cancels a training program or webinar they will endeavour to reschedule at an alternative time. Participants will have the option to either receive a full refund or the option to attend a rescheduled session.
- 4.3 No-Show Policy: No refunds will be issued for no-shows.
5. Changes to Training Sessions
The Institute of Couples Therapy reserves the right to modify the content, schedule, and location of the training sessions. Participants will be notified of any changes in advance.
6. Code of Conduct
Participants are expected to behave in a professional and respectful manner during training sessions. Disruptive behaviour may result in removal from the session without a refund.
7. Participant Requirements
Participants are required to have sufficient IT skills, access to appropriate IT facilities and access to a reliable internet connection to participate in the training.
Email is the primary method of communication of the Institute of Couples Therapy. Participants are requested to access their email accounts on a regular basis to ensure receipt of all communications. This also means accessing your spam/junk folder as the Institute of Couples Therapy cannot take responsibility for emails that are delivered to these folders.
Zoom links for the training are sent out prior to the start of the training. It is the participants responsibility to contact the Institute of Couples Therapy if they have not received the link prior to the start of the training.
8. CPD Certification
80% attendance is required on the training to qualify for receipt of the CPD certification for the training.
9. Intellectual Property
- 7.1 Ownership: All Materials provided during the training sessions are the property of the Institute of Couples Therapy and are protected by intellectual property laws.
- 7.2 Usage: Participants may use the Materials for personal and educational purposes only. Distribution, reproduction, or commercial use of the Materials without permission is prohibited.
10. Content Policy
We can accept no responsibility for the views expressed, the content, advice or contributions made by any person attending, which are all the views of the individuals concerned. This is not medical advice or counselling; it is an educational forum for appropriately qualified and experienced professionals in the fields of psychology, psychotherapy and Mental Health and we can take no responsibility for the attendance or participation of any person not qualified or for the use, misuse or misunderstanding of any information or view given.
11. Privacy and Data Protection

- 8.1 Data Collection: We collect personal information necessary for registration and administration of our Services.
- 8.2 Data Usage: Your data will be used in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which is available on our website.

- 8.4 Confidentiality: Participants are expected to keep any information about client work disclosed in the course by the trainer or other participants confidential. If this is not adhered to the participant will be removed from the course.
12. Liability
- 9.1 In-Person Training: The Institute of Couples Therapy is not responsible for any personal injury, loss, or damage incurred during in-person training sessions.
- 9.2 Online Training: We are not liable for technical issues or interruptions during online training sessions.
- 9.3 Limitation of Liability: Our total liability under these Terms shall not exceed the amount paid by the Participant for the training session.
13. Disclaimers
Our Services are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or usefulness of the training Materials.

2. Definitions
- “Services” refer to the online training videos, handouts, courses, and related content provided by The Institute of Couples Therapy.
- “User” refers to any individual or entity that accesses or uses our Services.
- “Content” refers to all training videos, materials, documents, and other resources available on the platform.
3. Account Registration
- 3.1 Registration: Users must create an account to access our Services. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process.

- Share your access credentials with others.

- Use the Content for commercial purposes without explicit permission from The Institute of Couples Therapy.
- Alter or modify any part of the Content.
- 5.3 Suspension and Termination: The Institute of Couples Therapy reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Services if you violate these Terms.
