Helen Shaughnessy is an accredited therapist with an MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy and an Advanced Certificate in Couples Counselling. She has a particular interest in addiction and neurodiversity, and how they impact relationships. She sees clients both online and in person in Craughwell, Galway.
Helen offers a warm, non-judgemental space where both partners can feel truly heard and respected. She supports couples in moving through difficult moments where they may feel stuck — whether that is breaking frustrating communication cycles, healing after a breach of trust, or finding their way back to each other when the relationship has begun to feel more like living as “roommates”.
Her approach is deeply intuitive and down-to-earth. She works collaboratively with couples to explore the roots of their challenges, with a focus on understanding rather than blame. Whatever a couple may be going through, Helen offers a space where it feels okay to reach out, and where the work can move towards a greater sense of connection, value, and mutual understanding.
